Character Traits
This is one of my favorite projects after learning about character traits. Students had to select 3 traits and support the traits with evidence. These pictures show so much personality!

Reading Achievement Fall Test Date
Students will take the Reading Achievement test on Tuesday, October 8th from 9:15- 11:45.
A to Z Homework
Students took home an A to Z book on Monday. They should have the book along with the character trait activity to go with it.
In addition to working on skills practiced in class, students should work on reading fluency (expression.) Please read the directions on the back of the paper. Some of the levels have a large number of pages, so I would suggest picking 2-4 pages to read for fluency practice. Students reading a level below N should read the entire book for practice.
This assignment is due by Friday.
In class we are working on using details from the selection to prove our answers. After listening to your child read the book, think of a few questions to ask.
A skill that several students had difficulty on when taking the practice test from last week was creating a new title for the story, and using details from the selection to support the title. The A to Z books are great for practicing this skill.
Students will need to use their own words when writing answers.
