First Day Photos

DonorsChoose

I just created a request for my classroom: Ready to Listen II.

They are matching all donations up to $100 until September 2. Just enter the code INSPIRE on the payment page and you'll be matched dollar for dollar. Any donations for our classroom will be greatly appreciated!   Last year we received the first set of these books.  Students love them!

Thank you so much for your support!

Mrs. Forster

Please let me know if this link does not take you to the project.

Baggie and Pencil Magic

Our first science experiment was a huge hit!  Students always love this one.

So far, so good!

Wow!  That was pretty cool!  Students are recording the results and wondering what will happen next.

We have a brave volunteer!  He stayed dry. Mrs. Forster was volunteered next and she stayed dry. Then it was Miss Runyon's turn and she got wet after the 5th pencil.  Apparently, the class next door was able to get 12 pencils in before a leak.

Spelling Unit 1

On Friday, we will begin our spelling 5xs each so that the students learn the format.  They will need to finish it at home and return it to school next Tuesday.  Spelling is assigned on Mondays and due on Tuesdays. When there is no school on Monday then spelling will be assigned on Tuesday and due on Wednesday.  In other words, it's due the second day of the week.

First Day!

We had a great first day! Students shared something fun about their summer! They are working on a 4-square animal fact sheet.  Today we read about elephants, wrote one fact and drew a picture. We have some great artists in our room! They should be able to tell you one interesting fact!  Can you imagine drinking 40 gallons of water day? How do birds help elephants?  Why do elephants like the mud?

  • Please check homework folders each evening. Everyone should have a calendar in the homework folder.  Please keep this inside the folder for the month.
  • There is no homework due this week.  On Friday, we will talk about spelling homework and get an early start on our 5xs each for next week.
  • On Thursday, students will be bringing home an "All About Me" poster to work on.  The poster will be due next week.
  • A memo went home today about pick-ups at the church down the hill.  Students can be released out the gate and down the hill now.
  • In 3rd grade, students carry their lunch money to the cafeteria.  They will need to have a pocket or envelope to keep their money inside.  They leave the room for specials and recess before going to lunch.
First day of school pictures coming soon!

On Tuesday, August 20th at 6:00, you can visit your classroom and meet the teacher.  You may drop off supplies if you'd like. I'm looking forward to seeing you then!
